The liquor has a deep, dark ruby color. The taste is intense and nutty, with notes reminiscent of walnut, a thick, oily texture, and a hint of astringency. Lao Cha Tou is known for its rich, layered character and excellent durability—it can be steeped many times without losing flavor.
A perfect tea for colder days or moments that call for deep focus and grounding.

Brewing instructions: Use 8 g of tea per 100 ml of water at 90–100 °C. Minimum number of steeps: 6–8. Quickly rinse the tea leaves with boiling water before the first infusion to awaken the tea.
Best brewed in: a teapot, gaiwan, glass, or a cup with an infuser and lid. It can also be simmered in a 0.5 L kettle.
