Luo Hua Cha is a classic Chinese jasmine green tea, enjoyed for centuries for its delicate fragrance and balanced flavour. Jasmine tea has a history of over a thousand years in China and remains one of the most traditional aromatic teas.

The process of scenting green tea with fresh jasmine blossoms may appear simple at first glance, but it requires exceptional skill. Tea leaves and jasmine flowers are layered in special wooden chests, allowing the flowers to infuse the tea with their natural aroma and moisture. During this stage, the flowers warm up, their colour changes, and their fragrance evolves — all of which must be carefully monitored.

A tea master must precisely balance six key factors:

- the quality of the tea,

- the quality of the jasmine flowers,

- temperature,

- humidity,

- the number and thickness of the layers,

- and the duration of scenting.

After scenting, the tea must be dried with great care. The temperature must remain low to preserve the fragrance, and the drying time must be controlled. Adequate ventilation is essential, yet it must not be too strong to avoid losing the delicate aroma. Creating a truly refined jasmine tea requires meticulous control of many interlinked parameters.

The resulting infusion is fresh, aromatic, and lightly sweet — a gentle tea suitable for everyday drinking.

Brewing: Use 5–7 g of tea per 100 ml of water at 80–90°C. Can be infused 3–5 times.

Best brewed in: a cup with infuser and lid, gaiwan, or glass.
