Hei Cha Liu An (2022) – Dark Tea from Anhui

Hei Cha Liu An is a traditional Chinese dark tea from Qimen County (祁门) in Anhui Province, a region known for its long-standing tea craftsmanship.

The infusion is dark and dense, offering a rich sweetness with a light, natural tartness. The flavour profile is deep and rounded, with a distinctive bouquet and subtle mirabelle plum notes. This tea has a warm, full character and a pleasantly lingering finish.

In China, Hei Cha is appreciated for its traditional processing methods and its role in everyday tea culture. It is often enjoyed after meals or during colder seasons for its comforting, warming profile.

Brewing: Use 5 g of tea per 100 ml of water at 100°C. Can be infused 5–7 times.

Best brewed in: a porous clay teapot dedicated to dark teas, or a gaiwan.
